Californian Peter Lee will be joining the Obama Administration to help implement health reform after leading the Pacific Business Group on Health as both CEO and as Executive Director for National Heath Policy. Effective June 1st, Lee will assume the post of Director of Delivery System Reform, in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Health Reform.
Lee joins other Californians in implementing health reform at the national level at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
This list includes Don Moulds, Acting Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, who formerly was a key policy staffer at the California State Senate and the California Medical Association; and Richard Kronick, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Health Policy Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, who is on leave from his professorship at University of California-San Diego, returning to the federal government after serving on the Clinton health reform task force in the early 1990s.
These are good folks that will do good work, and their experience with the complexity of California will also help them in their big task ahead.
