Fulfilling the Promise

Health Access’ 25th Anniversary Gathering in 2012

Health Access California and Health Access Foundation celebrated their 25th anniversary on December 4th, 2012, with a Symposium focused on “Fulfilling the Promise” of health reform and the organization’s broader mission. Key California leaders spoke, including California HHS Secretary Diana Dooley; Senator Ed Hernandez, chair of the Senate Health Committee; Assemblyman Richard Pan, chair of the Assembly Health Committee; and Assemblywoman Holly Mitchell, chair of the Assembly Budget Subcommittee on Health and Human Services. Timed right after a consequential election, right before a special legislative session on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, the event highlighted not just the past but the work ahead. Below are video excerpts from the day.
