Governor-elect Jerry Brown has made two crucial appointments with big implications for health care, according to the Sacramento Bee:
The new Health and Human Services Secretary will be Diana Dooley, who was president of the California Children’s Hospital Association, having previously been General Counsel and Vice President for Children’s Hospital Central California near Fresno. In 1975 she was appointed to the personal staff of Governor Jerry Brown for whom she served as a lobbyist, legislative director and special assistant until the end of his term in 1983. She’s been on the board of UC-Merced and has been past president of Planned Parenthood, the Visalia Chamber of Commerce and the Central California Futures Institute.
Ana Matosantos will stay on as Finance Director, continuing her stay from Governor Schwarzenegger’s term. Ana had been a consultant with the Senate Health and Human Services Committee under , and a health legislative aide in both the Health and Human Services Agency and then in Governor Schwarzenegger’s office during his 2007-08 efforts on health reform before moving to the Department of Finance and eventually becoming Director.
Much more to come…
