Valuing Value…

The new Health Wonk Review is out, with another baseball theme, in time for the playoffs, at MedicaidFirstAid by Brady Augustine. Our post on actuarial value and ensuring quality, comprehensive coverage is cited, as it was in the Blog Watch of the Kaiser Health News by Kate Steadman.

Robert Pear of the New York Times also spotlights the debate in Senate Finance over actuarial value, and the broader issue about the need for a minimum standard for coverage, so people are not stuck with “junk” insurance that leaves them uncovered for most of their bill.

As the House leadership seeks to reduce the cost of their bill, there’s a concern they will reduce the quality of coverage that they will help low- and moderate-income families get.

Health Access California promotes quality, affordable health care for all Californians.
