L.A. Times Highlights California’s Work to Make the Affordable Care Act Work

The Los Angeles Times recently profiled the work that California has to expand the reach and function of the Affordable Care Act in the state. Health Access has been a key proponent of the law and the work to implement and improve it, ensuring that the law works for consumers by keeping costs down, encouraging competitive markets, and providing comprehensive coverage.

“We’re not just the biggest state and one of the states that’s most aggressively taken advantage of tools in the Affordable Care Act,” said Health Access California Executive Director Anthony Wright, a leading consumer advocate. “We are also one of the states that had the biggest problems to start with.

“Now we’re showing that you can use the law as a platform to [further] benefit patients.”
