Killed Bill

The Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee just killed SBx1 23 (Ashburn), which would have awarded tax credits to businesses that set up cafeteria plans.

In our worldview, tax credits direct scarce state dollars away from services for people. Money used for tax credits could be used providing more Californians with actual coverage. And while Health Access supports cafeteria plans, we believe it is just one component of larger health reform.

Health Access California promotes quality, affordable health care for all Californians.
