Covered California Goes to Southern California…

Today, for the first time ever, the board of Covered California will be meeting in Southern California, where it has a jam-packed agenda in making decisions about setting up this new marketplace for Californians to better get and afford health coverage.

The meeting is set to be at the headquarters of First Five Los Angeles, 750 Alameda Street, starting with a closed session at 10am and open session at 12noon. If there’s any area that will especially benefit from Covered California and the other aspects of Obamacare, it is Los Angeles–“ground zero” for the uninsured crisis nationally.

For those who don’t come in person (and we hear the facilities will be crowded), it will be availablvia webcast at: http://www.cal-span.org/State_Webcast/HBEX/stream_index.htm

The meeting materials are all online, including the first ever Covered California Annual Report, on Covered California’s homepage at www.hbex.ca.gov.
