Busy week…

This next week will spotlight the two-year anniversary of the enactment of the Affordable Care Act, both highlighting the new options, benefits, and consumer protections for Californians, and to detail the work to maxmize the benefit as implementation continues through 2014.

Here’s a preview of these events, sponsored by a range of consumer and community organizations. More information will follow.

MONDAY, March 19th: Press conference with Assemblymember Fiona Ma on new legislation, AB1800, to fast-track health reform rules to limit out-of-pocket expenses.

TUESDAY, March 20th: Press conference with Assemblymember Bill Monning and Senator Ed Hernandez, chairs of the Assembly and Senate Health Committees, respectively, to release a new report detailing the impact of the Affordable Care Act in California, and to highlight legislation to bring additional benefits to California.

WEDNESDAY, March 21st: Press conference with Senator Ted Lieu on new legislation, SB1313, to prevent deceptive marketing from diverting Californians from taking advantage of the Affordable Care Act’s benefits.

THURSDAY, March 22nd: Press conference to highlight 2nd anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, with key community leaders and Californians with personal stories, to be held right before the California Health Benefits Exchange Board meeting in Fresno.
